The Structure of the modular tank from A to Z

Structure of modular tank

A modular tank is a prefabricated tank that consists of mandatory elements, each of which performs its functions. The modular tank includes: roof, hatch, galvanized truss, tank frame, piping, ladder and polymer insert. The roof of the tank, depending on the purpose is made of metal or plastic. When using the tank during the year, a metal roof is installed, which can withstand snow loads, low temperatures and is not destroyed by its abrupt change. The roof of the tanks in the room is made of plastic. Also modular tanks, if necessary, are installed without a roof, such as tanks for collecting rainwater or tanks for watering plants. The capacity is equipped with the inspection hatch of 500 *500 mm. The frame of the tank is equipped with sheets of galvanized corrugated steel, it is a strong material that surpasses the rigidity of smooth steel. The sheets are connected with cobalt-treated bolts to increase their service life in a humid environment. The bottom of the tank is additionally equipped with high-density geotextile. For waterproofness of the structere, the frame is insulated with a insert made of PVC or polypropylene black or green, respectively. Polypropylene 0.5-0.75 mm thick provides a long service life of the tank. To avoid friction between the tab and the frame, a specialized geotextile fabric is also attached. In special conditions the tab is checked for tightness and brought to the site ready for operation.   The piping of the tank includes the hatch, bottom drain and other drains and overflow pipelines. The liquid enters the tank through the supply pipe (pipe) or through the roof. The size of a branch pipe makes 32-160 mm. It is mounted on the side of tank. Liquid is taken through the bottom of the tank, because it is impossible to completely empty the tank through the side pipe. If necessary, it is possible to install a bottom drain in a modular tank, the size of its diameter is not limited and through it it will be possible to carry out full drain of liquid. In addition to the standard set of piping, if necessary, it is possible to install floats, taps, measuring scale, ventilation, absorber filter and other additional elements, depending on the purpose of the modular tank. The modular tank is installed on a pre-prepared concrete foundation. The tape concrete base is established on the ground or deepens under the soil, if necessary there is a possibility of deepened installation of modular tank, deepening to 0,8 m is allowed. To install a concrete foundation, it is necessary to clear the soil of weeds, debris and stones. Indoors, where there is already a concrete foundation, it is enough to cover it with a layer of sand.

In winter, depending on the frequency of withdrawal of water, it may be necessary to insulate and heat the tank. When withdrawal of water is is carried out every 2-3 days, the tank is not insulated or heated. When renewing the water every 10 days, the tank needs additional heating. If the withdrawal of water is carried out less than once every 10 days, then there is a need for additional heating and insulation of the tank. For the insulation of the modular tank is used expanded polystyrene, polyfoam, mineral wool, thickness of 50-140 mm, density of 80-110 kg/m2. High-density expanded polystyrene is used for roof insulation. Heating is carried out by means of heating cables. If the temperature reaches the minimum mark, specialized sensors send a signal about the need to heat the structure. When the required temperature is reached, the heating of the structure is stopped, which reduces electricity costs to a minimum.
